Reno Tahoe weddings banner linkThe city of Reno often gets a bad reputation as being a less glamorous version of Las Vegas, and this couldn’t be further from the truth. Reno is smaller when comparing the population to Vegas, but the Reno-Tahoe area has plenty of hidden gems, and Reno-Tahoe weddings can be a fun, adventurous ocassion! Since the area is settled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, there’s plenty of winter sport activities, and other outdoor recreational ventures. Reno-Tahoe weddings have the capacity to either be on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe, along the Truckee River in the downtown Reno area, or in one of the many resorts in either Reno or the city of Tahoe itself. There’s an endless list of possibilities!

Within the Reno area are several high class hotels and resorts, such as the Grand Sierra Resort, the Silver Legacy Resort Casino, the Tuscany Tower located at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, and dozens of others, to host your wedding, take care of your wedding needs, and to house your guests if they are traveling for your ceremony. But there are certainly other venues within Reno that are tucked away in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to host your wedding. One such place is Lavender Ridge, a rustic, family-owned lavender farm, just outside the city limits of Reno. There is also the River School Farm, Winter Creek Lodge, and Hidden Valley Country Club. Each venue has its own unique theme and setting, but they all have that vintage atmosphere that is iconic to Reno’s culture.

About forty-five minutes away from Reno, smacked along the Nevada-California border, is Lake Tahoe. Considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes in America, Lake Tahoe is a popular tourist destination, especially during wintertime when the surrounding Sierra Nevadas are snow-capped and the various ski lodges are open for snow sport enthusiasts. For couples whose favorite season is the coldest, Lake Tahoe is the perfect place for you. You can use a ski resort as a venue for your wedding, use one of the dozens upon dozens of lakeside restaurants in either Nevada or California. One of the great things about Reno is its prime location in regards to Lake Tahoe. If you have a large amount of guests coming, they can use one of the local resorts, then spend the day celebrating your nuptials on the shores of Lake Tahoe, or on one of the many overlooks along the nearby hiking trails.

Reno Tahoe Wedding Winter

One of the great things about the Reno-Tahoe area is how it’s like a gateway to cities like San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Jose. There are also a few national forests for the couples that like to hike together, and Yosemite National Park is just over three hours away from the Reno area. Reno-Tahoe weddings can be as outdoors-y as you want it to be, or as cozy as lakeside cabin. Your Reno-Tahoe wedding can be everything and anything you want it to be.
